The American Eagle remains one of the most highly regarded bullion coins available to investors and collectors alike due to its design, relation to the United States Mint, and the coin's international appeal. Held on the reverse, the quintessential embodiment of freedom and liberty, the Bald Eagle is seen mid-flight, with its wings outstretched, as it soars above America. A Sun rises in the background as the remaining field of the coin is blank. "United States of America" is displayed above the soaring Eagle, while the coins purity, and $100 face value can also be seen.

The obverse conveys Lady Liberty looking onward, with her title, "Liberty" as the legend, along with the year of issue, and the United States motto, "In God We Trust."
