The plumeria flower, with its white, yellow, orange or fuchsia pinwheel petals, represents birth and love. It can be a symbol of spring and new beginnings. Abundant and adored throughout the islands of Hawaii, the flower is considered positive and hopeful. In the Hawaiian culture, the plumeria can be used to symbolize a woman’s romantic status when worn in the hair. Just like a ring, when worn on the left side, she is married and the right side indicates she is single. 

PROCESS AND MATERIALS

This beautiful watch is skillfully crafted from 27 pieces of Mother of Pearl and abalone shells that were carefully inlaid in the Mother of Pearl background. The leaves are olive tinted abalone, the flowers are mother of pearl with yellow mica dust and the buds are mother of pearl with fuchsia mica dust.
